About KWIS

Known World Italian Symposium (KWIS) is a day of virtual classes on the lives, arts, and sciences of the people who dwelt on the Italian Peninsula from antiquity to the 1600 C.E. The third annual (KWIS III) event is planned for May 7, 2022. It will consist of classes, demos, and a virtual ball.

This event was borne from a love affair with the people who lived on the Italian Peninsula and a passion for researching and sharing knowledge about their existence. It is hosted yearly as a Known World virtual event for the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).
